Scope and Content

The Gene W. Carter Papers contain scant information on Carter. Primarily, this collection is Carter's compilation that features prominent members of his extended family. Box 1, Folders 1-2 holds biographical data and photographs of Justina Ford (1871-1952), the magnanimous Denver doctor. The scrapbook represents a trove of newspaper clippings, biographical data, a resume, and photographs of Jack Bradley (1919-2000), a famous violinist and the first black musician to play with the Denver Symphony Orchestra.
